[ Vegas, baby! It feels like forever sine Madigan's been back here, what with having to train Jacob and all. They're all due for a break, and Mads has come back home for the time being. She's even doing the tourist hing just for the hell of it- though mostly she's shopping.

After all she's been though, at the very least she deserves some new shoes. Besides, she kind of enjoys watching wives give their husbands a dirty look as she cocks her leg just so, making a show out of examining her footwear, before turning to the poor man and asking: ]

[A familiar dry sounding and formal tone quips:]

You've must have been called a public menace at some point haven't you?

[Of course that could only belong to one witch who also brought one apprentice... who's gushing over shoes right now so save her for later. In any case, Amelia just approached from behind arms crossed, with a bemused look in her eyes]

[griffonix]

[ Madigan laughs. ] My dear, I have no idea what you mean.

[ She turns to face Amelia, grinning broadly ] Hey you.

I didn't hear a 'no' so I'm still have my doubts.

It's good to see you again.

[griffonix]

I guess that's fair.

You didn't come all the way out here just to look at shoes, did you?

[recluserose]

Mm. Well, I'm not. [Points to the other side of the shop where a dark haired girl is examining a pair of red high heels with interest]

She is. I'm treating her.

... But I did want to say 'hello' to you.

[griffonix]

Oooh. Is this the apprentice I've heard about?

[recluserose]

You're right. She has a lot of catching up to do, but I think we're getting somewhere with her training.

It's been an interesting few months though, let's just say.

[griffonix]

That makes two of us. I've got an apprentice of my own, so to speak.

[recluserose]

We've both been up to a lot it seems. How did that happen for you?

[griffonix]

In my business, you hear a lot of gossip. Turns out the subject of a lot of this gossip is my nephew. Turns out a lot of that gossip was true, too.

[recluserose]

A nephew? Goodness. You're setting things straight so to speak then?

[griffonix]

Something like that. I'll have to share with you my family issues that I sort of just found out about over a drink at some point.

[recluserose]

I'll say yes to a drink anytime.

... But I'll be better about overdoing it next time. [Suffered a major hangover after the last time they met sob]

Ironically, I've been dealing with some family issues, but they're not even mine.

[griffonix]

Sounds to me like a lunch date is in order.

[recluserose]

That sounds fine.

You said you wanted to meet my student right? Maybe you could help her choose a nice pair of shoes. You might make better company in that regard as well.

In her exact words I'm, 'way too quiet while shopping as if you're giving a test to all the stuff we're shopping for.'

[griffonix]

I'm always willing to help a shoe-shopper in need. Shall we make introductions?

[She walks over to her student who looks up caught by surprise since she was a bit too engrossed in shoe shopping-- the shoe she was holding in her hand kind of... flies out of her hand and hits someone in the back of the head.





Yeah, you see what she has to work with? Amelia sighs and pushes her towards Madigan.]

[luciole]

[Lucinda heads on over in Madigan's direction, a bit confused, a bit disoriented, and... well mostly confused. It was nice of Miss Steinbeck to treat her to shoe shopping even if she just made a fool of herself.

But her mentor also mentioned there was a friend she wanted to say hi to and Lucinda's first impression? She has a friend that isn't a cat?! She looks like a nice lady, but there was also that part where she was showing off her leg to that one guy-- oh wait and then she started to wonder if she could buy those pair of cute red high heels--

FOCUS. She shyly approaches the other woman not sure about what she's supposed to say. She must be magical. Her right arm was tingling so... Lucinda takes a deep breath and says]

Hi.

[griffonix]

... Aren't we shy?

My name is Madigan. I'm a good friend of your teacher's.

[luciole]

[There's a look of relief on her face. This wasn't like those uneasy conversations with the other witches and wizards during the New Year Ball.]

She mentioned you when we came here. I was sorta surprised... anyways I'm Lucinda. It's nice to meet you Madigan.

[griffonix]

Now then, I hear you want to buy some shoes. I happen to be an expert on shoes.

[luciole]

Oh, MAN I could use a good pair. I brought a lot of my stuff over after I moved out of my dad's place, but I outgrew some of my best ones.

Um... you're okay with shopping with me though? I mean I guess Miss Steinbeck must have told you about me...

How do you guys know about each other? She doesn't like hanging out with a lot of people at least from what I've seen. That or she's super picky.

[griffonix]

Whoa, whoa. Easy there, Hummingbird. One question at a time.

First of all, I am always okay with shopping. Second, we sort of met by accident, but we're good friends now.

Third, told me what about you?

[luciole]

... Nothing bad I hope?

[griffonix]

Just that you're a handful, but then again, so am I.
