[ Just an average Saturday night at the Griffonix. Of course that means it's fairly busy, but not unmanageable. There's a nice, relaxed atmosphere, and most patrons are familiar enough with the place that if they do have to wait, they don't mind it. People are making conversation over the music, and Madigan herself is behind the bar.

The bar is fairly busy as well, but she's got a good handle on things. Not that she isn't grateful for a sudden lull. It gives her a chance to catch her breath. ]

[Here's a visitor at Griffonix you don't see often. Amelia makes her way to the bar, still feeling a little out of place at this establishment especially since it's not like she's a... customer. She just likes Madigan's company and considering there's not much to do during the weekend after her school teacher, a visit wouldn't hurt.]

Good evening.

[Formal as ever.

[griffonix]

[ Madigan's face just lights right up, and she smiles broadly ]

Hey you! It's been way too long.

[recluserose]

[She gives Madigan a small wave as she seats herself on one of the bar seats, one that's near her of course.]

I agree. Things got busy at school and I wanted to keep a low profile for a while by acting normal as possible.

[griffonix]

Eh, normalcy's overrated.

Can I get you a drink? On the house, of course.

[recluserose]

It gives such comfort to my co-workers though.

Some whiskey and ice will be good enough for me, thank you.

[griffonix]

Sure thing, cutie.

[ WINK, and she steps away to fix that. ]

[Pfff. Amelia kind of rolls her eyes, but she doesn't find herself minding those sort of remarks from Madigan anymore. Or rather, did she ever mind in the first place?]

Has everyone here been doing well?

[griffonix]

[ She slides Amelia her glass. ] Pretty good. Mel got a nice black eye at her last softball game, but that's nothing a night's work can't fix.

... No idea how she's going to explain that one though.

How have you been?

[Taking a sip before answering]

I've been doing well enough. I've been thinking about what to do once I've decided my years of teaching are up even if that might not until a while later. But you know me, I think ahead as best as I can.

[griffonix]

Have you come to any conclusions?

[recluserose]

Not yet. I just know that I can't stay there for another couple of years or else my previous students will be very confused during the high school reunion party.

[Said jokingly almost even if there is some sad truth to it.]

[griffonix]

You're always welcome here, you know.

[ It's a serious offer, and maybe she hopes that Amelia will at least give it some thought. ]

If I find a way to move my house and perch it on one of the hotel buildings, I'll let you know.

[Well, maybe that counts as giving it some thought?]

I'm sure you could find a way.

Care for another drink?

... Ah, why not. It's a weekend and I got all night.

[griffonix]

I've got all night, too. [ Slides her another drink, then! They could be here a while. ]

[LATER THAT EVENING... well, it could be worse. Amelia's definitely gotten more cheerful and energetic with alcohol in her system]

So the algebra teacher has been trying to ask me out all year and the only reason I know that is because my students keep up with gossip more than the homework I assign!

[griffonix]

So if he ever does actually ask you, what are you going to say?

[ It is getting pretty late, so things have calmed down. Madigan's not even busy, so she's just leaning on the bar across from Amelia, chatting with her. ]

I dunno. [Stretching her arms out and exhaling. And then finishing off a drink.]

Nice guy and all, but he's half my age and as time passes, I still won't have wrinkles, but he will.

Although guys who look about late thirties or early forties do have a little something-something, not gonna lie.

[griffonix]

Is that so? Clearly you're going to have to share your list of turn-ons now, because I'm all curious.

You drive a hard bargain, sweetheart, but I accept.

Let's see, let's see... I'm a lips and eyes kind of girl. Give me someone with full, kissable lips and I am so there. I also like being able to run my fingers through someone's hair.

[ She reaches over, a teasing grin on her face, and tucks a strand of Amelia's hair behind her ear. ] Ladies are great for that.

[Red because of booze or that... who knows.]

What color hair? I think I like dark hair. Not sure why.

I have a certain fondness for redheads. Always so... fiery. [ Unabashedly flirting? Unabashedly flirting. ]

Well, if I'm ever fiery, it's usually cause I'm am amazingly drunk. Otherwise, "meh."

[Kinda of amazing how she can be brutally honest, but in completely different ways]
